What if someone who's not named on my policy damages my car while driving it?
When you give someone permission to drive your car, it's up to you to check that they have valid insurance. If they do, it'll be their insurer that handles the claim. If they don't, then the claim will be dealt with by us but your cover will drop to third party only while they are driving. That means we'll only deal with damage to any third party involved, including passengers in your vehicle. If you knowingly allow someone to drive your vehicle without insurance, we'll have to investigate this further and we may contact you to repay the cost of the claim. Damage to your car or injury to you won't be covered. You can find more information in your policy booklet.
