What does wear and tear mean?

For car insurance, we consider wear and tear to be damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use, ageing or as a result of lack of maintenance.
Wear and tear is not covered by your policy. Other types of damage not covered include:
- Depreciation
- Any mechanical, electrical or computer breakdowns, failures, faults or breakages
- Cyber attack and events
- Damage to tyres caused by braking, kerbing, punctures, cuts or bursts
