What locks do I need?

If you have a 'minimum security' endorsement applied to your policy, we need you to have timber doors fitted with a 5 lever mortice deadlock or rimlock conforming to BS 3621, BS 8621 or BS 10621, Aluminium, PVC or Composite doors fitted with a key operated multi point locking system conforming to PAS 3621, PAS 8621 or PAS 10621. Doors manufactured before 2011 must be fitted with a 3 point locking system and the lock cylinders must be 3 star rated. This rating can be SS 312 Diamond standard or TS 007 kitemarked.

Patio doors must have top and bottom key operated bolts and anti-lift devices fitted. Windows - key operated locks must be fitted to basement, ground floor and accessible upper floor windows (including fanlights).

Garages and outbuildings must have a key operated lock or locking system. You can check with a locksmith if you're unsure what locks you have.
