What happens to my policy excess if another person makes a claim?
You'll only pay your policy excess if you make a claim for the damage to your car following an accident. Also, you'll only pay that excess once per claim. So, if you don't make a claim for the damage to your car (even if the other person involved makes a claim against you), you won't have to pay your excess. And if you decide to make a claim for the damage to your car and the other person makes a claim too, only one excess needs to be paid.
